Memorandum

MEMORANDUM
To:
Ladies of City College of New York
From:
Yanna Sanchez, Student at City College of New York
Date:
September 6, 2017
Subject:
The State of the Lavatories at the Marshak Science Building on Campus
The
Marshak Science building is the destination of our most challenging and
stressful courses, which is why effortless transition between classes is
important. Often times once ending a
class we try to use the lavatories before our next class, however we find
ourselves having to wait on a long line because one or two stalls are out of
order or simply avoided, because of its unpleasantness.
Regardless
of how many lavatories are located at the Marshak Science building the issues
regarding uncleanliness and out of order stalls are constant throughout most of
the lavatories. Often times garbage is
left undisposed of in stalls as well as by the washing area. We also see improper disposal of feminine
products which causes buildups and leads to stalls becoming unavailable shortly
after. These issues regarding the
lavatories cause longer wait times, lead to lateness to another class, and
contributes to an unpleasant surrounding.
Therefore,
to correct the issues for the present and future, we must change our
ineffective actions and unconcerned behaviors towards our campus and our
colleagues. By each one of us taking the
time of disposing feminine products into their appropriate disposal bins
located on the stall wall, while the paper towels should be disposed of in the
bins located at the exit. These actions
will be able to cut down on the frequency of out of service stalls, which in
turn will decrease wait time spent on a line.
This will also help keep the lavatories clean and tidy throughout the
day and it is simply common courtesy
towards your fellow colleagues. This
simple act will also help maintain the City College of New York’s overall
campus appearance in its beauty and standards.
Thank
you ladies for your time and efforts. If
